Terms of service

Draft. Skill Earn is in early access and these terms will be reviewed by a lawyer before paid course purchases open. If something here matters to you, ask us and we will answer plainly.

1. Who these terms are between

They are between you and the team operating Skill Earn in Nairobi. Using the site, opening a community or joining one means you accept them.

2. Your account

You need an accurate email address, you are responsible for what happens under your account, and you must be old enough to enter a contract where you live. Do not share your password.

3. Your learning content

Your lessons and uploaded notes stay yours. Historical community posts and comments from before posting was removed remain your content while retained in the database. You give Skill Earn permission to store your content and re-encode video for delivery. We do not sell your content or train anything on it.

4. What you may not do

No content you do not have the right to publish, nothing illegal in Kenya, nothing that harasses another member, and no attempt to break, overload or reverse the service.

5. Communities and money

Community membership is free. Course prices are shown before checkout, and a course purchase is a one-time payment that grants ongoing access to that course. Paid checkout remains unavailable until the Pesapal merchant account and these payment terms are ready. Platform fees and creator payouts will be stated here before anyone is charged.

6. Early access

Skill Earn is new. Features change, things break, and data can be lost while we are building. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. The service is provided as it is, without a warranty, and our liability is limited to what you have paid us, which during early access is nothing.

7. Ending it

You can delete your account at any time. We can suspend an account that breaks these terms, and we will say why.

8. Law

Kenyan law applies, and the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction.

9. Changes

We will post changes on this page and update the date at the top. Anything that affects money or your content will be announced before it takes effect.
